Have you heard of it … LOC Method for Curls and Natural Hair?

This is a layering method ideal for those who wish to retain moisture for healthy, hydrated curls.

L = leave in conditioner

O = a nourishing oil

C = a cream

the LOC Method(blog 3)

You may already have products you enjoy. The idea behind the LOC Method is to cocktail them. The leave-in conditioner provides moisture to dry hair and curls and the oil and cream help lock it in. If done properly, it can help a curlfriend to go longer periods without having to add more hydration. Even finer and wavier textures can benefit if you have difficulty retaining moisture in Alaska's dry environment or experience thermal damage.

Paul Mitchell Has

• Lavender Mint Conditioning Leave-In

• Lavender Mint Nourishing Oil

• Lavender Mint Taming Cream

Matrix Total Results makes

• A Curl Can Dream Light Hold Gel,

• A Curl Can Dream Lightweight Oil and

• A Curl Can Dream Moisturizing Cream

It's recommended to start with clean hair. Consider co-washing (see our earlier post).

While the amount of product used should be customized to fit the needs of your hair, the order of application always stays the same - L-O-C. Section your hair and apply in order.

As a curly girl myself, while in the shower, I will sometimes use my wet fingers to comb through my hair in order to later add leave in, oil and cream to restyle my damp hair for the day.
